Liver Toxicity/ PMS Part 1

Liver Toxicity/ PMS Part 1
May 7, 2011 Charli Wall

Day 4 and 5 – Cambridge Personal Trainer is still pretty grumpy and flat..  Apologies for not updating yesterday, I have been mainly trying not to kill any person who comes into my path 😉 Oh, and researching the role of Estrogen, Leptin and the wonderful PMT.

You see I was feeling soooooo moody and short tempered and tired, that I figure I MUST be pre-menstrual – I mean a detox couldn’t be THIS bad could it?? I have come to the conclusion that whether or not I am pre-menstrual, the fact that I even get chronic PMT , bad skin and mood swings must be some sort of hormonal issue right?

I think I am right, so for the last two days I have been burying my head into books to read about the impact of liver toxicity and its impact on my lovely hormones and monthly friend..

I also felt it more appropriate for me to hide away from most of the world otherwise I may have wrestled them to the ground looking for chocolate.

So.. So far, I have learnt that  if your liver is hugely toxic, then it can exhibit these signs:

Sensitivity on palpation

Excessive fatigue (eeeeek)

Pale stools

Dark urine

Easy Bruising

Digestive stress

Gall Stones

PCOS

Ovarian Cysts

Heavy Periods

PMS

That’s quite some list – What would help to overload the liver?  hmmm.. Alcohol (obvious) ; Drugs; Cigarettes; (all pretty obvious) Processed foods; Grains; Caffeine; Medications; STRESS; Over eating; Under eating; Xenoestrogens – (“Xenoestrogens, chemicals that can imitate the female hormones which can be derived just from home cleaning products ….  Breast cancer has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S. and is increasing globally. Fibroids, cysts, endometrial cancers, menopausal problems and PMS are everywhere increasing.” 1.

;   Detoxing – albeit breifly – which is where I am at currently.

I am going to do a part 2 to this post tomorrow, as there is MUCH information to digest and learn about Estrogenic Dominance and it’s impact on the female system.  In the mean time, I am going to leave you with this interesting article to read http://upfitness.co.uk/articles/female-health-fat-loss/female-fat-loss-estrogen-stubborn-lower-body-fat/

I am off to bed with my Tulsi tea, magnesium and zinc supps, and aiming to literally get my beauty sleep 😉

Hoping all you Cambridge Bootcamp girls are still doing ok :0)

Thanks Charlie. That link is really interesting, although point number 3 kind of lost me. But the rest was understood!
