โฃ

Imbolc initiates a series of fertility festivals guiding us toward the light: Imbolc (gentle stirrings), Ostara (awakenings), and Beltane (beginning to blossom).โฃ
โฃ
Today, we are invited to connect with the Celtic Goddess Bridgit, symbolising fertility, change, poetry, inspiration, childbirth, and fire.โฃ
โฃ
While Imbolc is a fire festival, it doesn’t involve massive bonfires. Instead, it’s a time to light a candle in the darkness, acknowledging that though Spring may seem distant, much activity is being gestated beneath the surface.โฃ
โฃ
Nature’s cycles offer cues for our lives ๐
โฃ
In autumn, we released and let go; at Samhain, we embraced the energy of death and decay. Throughout winter, we hibernated and processed the events of 2023.โฃ
โฃ
Imbolc encourages us to use the compost of our experiences as fuel for the year ahead, prompting questions like:โฃ
โฃ
๐ฟWhat did I overcome or release in 2023, and how has it strengthened me?โฃ
โฃ
๐ฟ What reflections or lessons from winter will shape the coming year?โฃ
โฃ
๐ฟWhat creative ideas and projects do I want to plant as seeds for this year?โฃ

The crucial question to ask ourselves is:

Honouring Imbolc can take various forms, such as:โฃ
โฃ
๐ฟ Spring cleaning: Declutter, sweep away the old and release lingering negative energy from winter.โฃ
โฃ
๐ฟ Planting seeds: Sow seeds in fertile soil, accompanied by mantras or affirmations for the upcoming year.โฃ
โฃ
๐ฟ Refreshing your altar (If you have one, and I do): Remove winter symbols and introduce fresh items, like new candles, fortune cookies, daffodils/snowdrops, and white crystals.โฃ
โฃ
๐ฟ Creating a vision board: Use Pinterest, gather images from the internet, or opt for paper and glue to craft a vision for the year ahead, illuminated by the flame of a candle
Happy Imbolc, minute by minute, day by day, the light is growing, and Winterโs grip is loosening ๐
