Morning ? Jumping into Wednesday with my #BrokenFingers workout which I’ll post later.
I just wanted to take some time to write about (or too) people who #Binge on food and then berate themselves for it.
I get a lot of messages from ladies who deal with this on a daily basis and are not sure where to start ~ so wanted to say this : ?
The first thing to remember is that you are not alone, and that you are only human.
Maybe the best thing to do is just to remove ONE thing at a time, so that u are not feeling that you are being strict with yourself. Most of us, if we do not actually believe that we deserve to be healthy will sabotage the efforts because the mind does not genuinely believe the actions you are attempting to take, so it sabotages itself.
Although it’s hard, you need to believe that you are worth the effort, and truly believe it, which will make it easier to follow things through.. You cannot out eat a negative mindset. Your mindset is probably the most powerful tool you have. Your subconscious mind hates to be wrong – It literally cannot stand a situation where what you believe about your life/ body is incongruent to the reality.. Therefore to put it simply – If you tell yourself in your mind that you cannot run, and you believe this 100% when you go out for a run, you will very likely stop – meaning your thoughts become the reality. (I have to say that I can relate to this completely on the running!) Likewise, if you believe yourself to be overweight, you will likely keep ‘snacking’ on chocolate or biscuits (even secretly) to ensure that your subconscious mind is not wrong.
The thing is, whatever that negative thought that you think about yourself daily, especially when you look in the mirror, repeating, and reinforcing those thoughts will increase the likelihood of you staying or being in the same situation.
What we need to try to do is make our brains believe that what we want has already happened, + in that we take responsibility for ourselves + our health. That is to say that we are not wishing for something/ a body that we want, or would like, BUT THAT WE ALREADY HAVE IT *insert goal here*
Therefore every day, I would like you to do 3 things:
1. Decide exactly who you want to be, what you want to look like and what you want to be able to do.
2. Write 2 mantra’s of 2-3 sentences and read them out loud to yourself before you get out of bed in the morning and before you get in at night.
Put pictures up on your bedroom wall / office wall / toilet door which depict your goals in detail. Stare at these whenever you can, imagining yourself in that situation and feel the emotions that will come with that being your reality.
Like attracts like so surround yourself with people who share the same goals as you. Use these forums to share your positive affirmations, support + care for yourself.
Don’t allow yourself to be blinded by negative beliefs + self-talk – change your programming and allow yourself to see you as others see you – Ask your friends to say how they see you, write this down, and put it somewhere you can see every day.
Look in the mirror, and find things about yourself you DO like – do not allow those nagging negative creatures of comfort to enter in to allow us to justify having that cream cake.
Start focusing on “I want to eat clean food because… “ so that you do not think that you have been *told* to.
For as soon as we think we have to do something, we begin to resist it. You are making the choice to believe in yourself + be happy.
